Immerse in the beauty of our Maldives' private island resort

About the Maldives

Discover an island nation unlike any other.

The Republic of Maldives is a collection of 26 atolls, idyllically floating on the Indian Ocean, southwest of Sri Lanka and India. Comprising approximately 1,192 islands, only 187 are inhabited by Maldivians, and around 168 are home to tourist resorts. The rest are uninhabited or submerged.

The Maldives is the lowest-lying country in the world and the smallest Asian country in terms of population and land size; however, it is one of the most dispersed countries in the world. The capital city, Malé, is the most populous and is 5 minutes from Velana International Airport. 31 areas in the Maldives have been designated as ‘protected’ by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Ministry of Environment and Energy.
