We know that sustainability is as important to you as it is to us - and that’s why we’ve made it easy for you to stay at a resort that shares your values.
IHG Journey to Tomorrow is a 10-year action plan involving all IHG Hotels & Resorts in more than 100 countries around the world. The plan was set in motion in 2020 with a series of ambitious new commitments to make a positive difference for our people, communities and planet. Guided by IHG’s purpose to provide True Hospitality for Good, we work side by side with those who stay, work and partner with us, to help shape the future of responsible travel - supporting our people and making a positive difference to our local communities, while preserving our planet’s beauty and diversity long into the future. Kandooma is a stunning island paradise, and it’s all thanks to its incredible natural surroundings. From the vibrant coral reef that wraps around our resort to the warm, inviting ocean waters that are home to amazing marine life, it’s truly breathtaking. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do.

The crystal-clear waters surrounding our island are alive with vibrant coral reefs and exotic marine life, and protecting this incredible underwater world is something we care deeply about.
At Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives, we’re committed to preserving the delicate ecosystem that faces ongoing threats from natural and human impact. From our Turtle Awareness activities & Manta Conservation initiatives, we actively support marine protection efforts. Guests can also join our Marine experts to learn more about the wonders of the big blue and how we can all help protect it.

As part of our efforts to minimise our impact on the environment and continue seeking more sustainable energy resources, Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives has partnered with Swimsol to implement a solar power energy system.

Separate bins and waste management processes were set up to effectively recycle food waste, plastics, tin, metal and other general waste. From harvesting rainwater to recycling excess water from the A/C, to use in various areas from gardening to ‘foot baths’, we have aimed to use the best methods to effectively make the most of our resources.

As part of our Community Engagement, we have initiated and implemented several programs throughout the year from providing long term assistance to the Home for People with Special Needs on Guraidhoo island to a tree planting program that occurs twice a year.
